"Rotarians are symbols and examples of the search for progress and stability. All of them, each with a different business and profession have heavy duties of humanitarianism and have joined in co-operation in the glorious attempt to seek methods and means for the solution of problems we face in times of crises." -Royal Citation of His Majesty the King Rama IX (Patron of Rotary in Thailand), on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Rotary in Thailand, 15th December 1980.
11th January 2007 dawned bright and sunny, as Koh Samui prepared to honour its children with the delightful annual event, National Children's Day.
This event is traditionally held at Nathon Pier, and Rotary Club of Koh Samui, ROCKS, turned out in force to play its part. Members, partners, Friends of Rotary, all gathered round the ice cream 'station' and prepared to dispense 9 gallons of ice cream to eager 'customers'. Children as young as babies in arms, and also some over sized 'children' enjoyed the bounty that the ROCKS were happy to donate. ROCKS have been supporting this event since 2004, and will doubt continue to do so for years to come.
